Conference of Euroregion Baltic Stakeholders

Between 17 and 18 June the stakeholders of Euroregion Baltic met in Elbląg in order to continue the process of reviewing the cooperation, as recommended earlier this March in the road map adopted by the Council.

ERB Board meeting in Älmhult

The meeting of the Euroregion Baltic Executive Board will be held on 9-10th February 2012 in Älmhult, Sweden. The meeting will mark the transfer of ERB Presidency from the Russian Party onto the Swedish Party. The Board will also make a summary of joint activities in 2011, adopt the action plan for 2012-2013 and discuss lobbying activities within the EU Cohesion Policy after 2013, the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region, and youth issues. Debate on EU Funds 2014-2020

On 31st January 2012 in Valencia, Spain the INTERACT programme and Generalitat Valenciana are organising a conference on the new draft EU Cohesion Policy 2014-2020 regulations. The conference will focus on the draft proposals prepared by the European Commission and open a debate on how to deal with future organisation of the Funds and also on the growing importance of the European Territorial Cooperation. On 24-25 November 2011 in Poznań, Poland the Polish Presidency of the EU Council presented its main conclusions on the future of EU Cohesion Policy.

Denmark Takes Over EU Presidency

As of January 1st 2012 Denmark holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The Danish Prime Minister, accompanied by the Minister for Economic Affairs and Interior, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Minister for European Affairs, has presented the Programme of the Danish EU Presidency entitled "Europe At Work". There are four fundamental priorities in the Programme: a responsible Europe, a dynamic Europe, a green Europe, and a safe Europe. South Baltic Compass Newsletter 4/2011

The latest issue of the South Baltic Programme Newsletter "Compass" focuses on two major South Baltic events that were held in Schwerin, Germany between 28-29th November 2011 - the South Baltic Projects Forum and the South Baltic Annual Conference.

In view of further supporting the beneficiaries of the South Baltic Programme, the CBP has developed a Short Guide to Project Development.

MOMENT Project Newsletter No 6

In the latest edition of its Newsletter the MOMENT project focused on a feasibility study prepared by the Ronneby municipality, concerning possibilities of producing biogas from sludge originating from small scale sewage plants.

At the ongoing plenary session in Brussels, the Committee of the Regions adopted an opinion on the European Neighbourhood Policy review. Mr Jacek Protas, Marshal of Warmińsko-Mazurskie region and member of the Executive Board of Euroregion Baltic has been the rapporteur of the opinion.

During a working visit to Moscow on 14^th December 2011, Mr Radosław Sikorski, Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs and Mr Sergey Lavrov, Russian Federation’s Minister of Foreign Affairs signed the Agreement on local border traffic between Poland and Russian Federation.

On 12th December 2012 the Euroregion Baltic Executive Board held an on-line meeting to discuss the ERB Action Plan 2012-2013.
